Pvt. Branden P. Haunert, 21, of Cincinnati, Ohio, died May 18 in Tikrit, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his vehicle was blown up. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.

Haunert was a very good friend of mine and I am sad to hear about him dieing,but know that he did not die for nothing and we will get those bastards brotha that is my promise to you and ur family.I love you man

i knew branden very well, and i think its rediculous for someone to say that he is a bad person or whatever this site is implying, he enlisted in the army and it is awful that he is dead. He is a person just like anyone else dying overthere. Do you think he wanted to be over there, if you need to speak badly of someone it should be the president and those making the choices to be there, but for Branden he was a great person and will always be remembered.

The NVA were a very skilled Army, and we may have lost the war, but every engagement that the US Army fought agist the NVA ended in an American Victory. Thats the facts. While I my self question the reasons for us being in Iraq (im a vet myself) I find comfort in beliving that we stand for the freedoms of the Iraqi people.
