Guyana Chronicle boycotts Break the Silence Stop the Violence Rally

the lackeys at Guyana Chronicle following orders from office of the dictator. they still can´t get over the fact that Varshnie Singh is free and independent after leaving her serial abuser

Dear Editor,
I am an avid reader of all four of Guyana’s newspapers. It’s always very interesting to attempt to see how much a newspaper allows its bias to affect its reporting of the news.
Recently, I followed the events leading up to and attended the “Break the Silence – Stop the Violence” Rally held on November 25th at GCC, Bourda.
This event was coordinated by Dianne Madray of IMRARC, former First Lady Varshnie Singh of Kids First Fund, and Kaieteur News’ Columnist and Women’s Advocate, Stella Ramsaroop. They were joined by Sukree Boodram and Luke Daniels, both authors of books dealing with domestic violence.
There was a lot of press leading up to this event, including daily talk and news shows and several articles in various newspapers.
The event itself also received extensive news coverage and was attended by well over 2,000 individuals, in my estimation, including the Minister of Human Services and Social Security, Priya Manickchand; AFC Presidential candidate Sheila Holder; AFC Leader Raphael Trotman; The Honourable Mayor of Georgetown, Hamilton Green; Publisher of Kaieteur News, Glenn Lall, and several other dignitaries.
However, it should be noted that, unless I missed it, the Guyana Chronicle never mentioned this event in their newspaper.
As this was obvious news worthy event, one has to wonder if it was the involvement of the former First Lady that caused them to be so petty as to not report on this event.
This is the type of activity that disqualifies a newspaper from being a newspaper and simply puts them in the class of “propaganda.”
