Guardian: The event on the edges of the Cancún climate change summit was meant to inspire: a gathering of the powerful and the worthy to celebrate a pioneering Norwegian strategy of fighting poverty and global warming by preserving the world’s tropical forests.”The overall message is that it’s going quite well,” Norway’s prime minister, Jens Stoltenberg, told an approving crowd.
Really? Well not for Guyana, which was promised $250m to preserve its entire forest, an area about the size of England.
“It’s a nightmare. It is a test of the sincerity of the developed world, and the delivery on development assistance has been abysmal,” said Bharrat Jagdeo, Guyana’s
presidentdictator. There was no sign of the $30m scheduled for payment in 2010 even though Guyana had met conditions demanded by Norway, Jagdeo said. “We have not seen a single cent expended as yet on the projects that are so vital to transformation.” There was a burst of applause. Stoltenberg, who had been staring hard at Jagdeo during his speech, did not join in.
The exchange, at an event organised by international network Avoided Deforestation Partners, exhibited the challenges and frustrations of finding real life solutions for climate change.

Posted by Peter | December 10, 2010, 11:54 amWhat happens when drug dealers and dictators do not get their way?
This guy’s behavior lacks any panache and is reminiscent of the gutters and mud through which he used to splash for snails in Unity.
Even those snails have more class than this world class idiot parading as an environmental savior.

When a whinny pussy cries and complain in your ears for money, your options are restricted to dick-slapping that bitch, shoot some of your DNA down her throat while back-handing her left side face, then take her back to the negotiation table with the words “… you were sayin..”
That’s your prerogative as her pimp.

Posted by carl singh | December 10, 2010, 9:10 pmJagdeo and his corrupt bloodsuckers still deluded enough to think that the rest of the world runs on the cronyism, nepotism and patronage as this country?
This guy is a megalomaniacal jackass.
Posted by shattapaul | December 10, 2010, 10:17 pmWell… it does actually, it’s just some countries make at least a token attempt to hide it, whilst people like Jaggy just don’t care, they feel confident that they can rub it in the peoples’ faces, but just like the youth here in the U.K. are waking up, so shall it be in GT and when the time comes Jaggy and co. will be having a nasty surprise just like Charles and Camilla.

Posted by sharonstorm | December 13, 2010, 4:25 pm@ sharonstorm.
If the money is for the benefit of the Guyanese people, why is jagdeo (Guyana’s Madea) saying ” I CAN’T GET THE MONEY” as opposed to ”My people can’t get their money” No money will be released until you jagdeo and his thieving cohorts are in jail.
