The Minister of Home Affairs, Clement Rohee has carried out his threats of getting the police to questioned me about the refugee case I won for the IT specialist in Canada.
Two detectives came to my work place on April 29, 2011 at 2.30 p.m with orders from the Commissioner of Police to question me and take a statement from me. I gave them a brief statement reluctantly.
Is this how the police operate in Guyana? How can the Home Affairs minister direct the police commissioner on how to do his work?
Why is the police commissioner not impartial and uphold his office in a fair manner?
Everyone in the world can now see why my client was afraid to report the threats against him to the police. My client did had a legitimate reason for not reporting Minister Rohee to the police. Now the Minister and his police are intimidating and threatening the counsel for doing his job in Canada.
What the Minister of Home Affairs and the police is doing to me is proving to the world that the police in Guyana are not to be trusted and the Minister of Home Affairs thinks that the law of the jungle operates in Guyana as he can do whatever he wants.
He is now opening the floodgates for refugee claimants from Guyana by proving that the police and the government cannot offer protection to its citizens but instead harassing innocent citizens like myself for just doing my duties as an Immigration Counsel.
This Minister has proved to the world that he can carry out his threats. In any part of the world, this Minister and the Commissioner of Police would have had to resign immediately. But in Guyana no high official have any shame and resignation is not an option for them.

As a Counsel representing a client, you are protected under immunity thus you are not obligated to give any explanation on behalf of your clients cases. That is for the Judge to hear. No one (besides an order by the court in Canada) can make you explain. NO one in GT can make you explain what information you know.
FYI: Even if a warrant is executed for a search of a home and the suspect is a lawyer…………the documents are not supposed to be read by the law enforcement. A lawyer has certain laws protecting him on behalf of Attorney/Client confidentiality. Even if the lawyer has a safe and he said its got his clients information, they can take the safe into evidence without opening it…………..they would then have to get a order by the court to have the lawyer and them present and have the safe open in the courtroom. If they want to play wrong-and-strong then they can broke the shit and open it, but the Judge will suppress any evidence that is incriminating.
