Modus operandi with dealing with the government
1. Minister Irfaan said that the Mr Ramoutar will visit us at the CIOG secretariat,
but we haven’t a response as yet for the date of the visit.
2. Bro McDoom said that a request was made for the CIOG to meet with the President
of Guyana, but the other political parties have not made such request. He added it’s
premature to meet at this time since things are still fluid at the moment. The
opposition has not selected their members for the national assembly and we should
wait until they resolve their issues.
3. Bro Hakeem said that we should work with the government and not the political
parties. He added that CIOG is willing to meet with anyone but we should not request
to meet with any political party.
4. The president said that traditionally we should request a meeting with the new
president to congratulate him and willing work with the present government.
5. Bro Ramjohn said that we should extend our hands to the major political parties.
6. The president said if CIOG has a function we should invite the leader of the
opposition party.
