A diamond dealer and employee of Guytrac and Pulse Entertainment was on Thursday morning gunned down in the compound of Cool Square Hotel, just as he and a female friend were about to enter a taxi.
According to eyewitnesses, Imtiaz Roopnarine, also known as “Bobby”, was executed by a lone gunman around 06:00h while attempting to leave the West Ruimveldt hotel.
Police in a release said that about 05:30h, Roopnarine, 37, of Mandela Avenue, Georgetown, was attacked and shot to his head by a man armed with a firearm in the compound of a hotel in West Ruimveldt, Georgetown. The victim’s personal jewellery is suspected to have been taken away by the perpetrator. Roopnarine was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital. No arrest has been made as yet as the investigations continue.
Meanwhile, the dead man’s brother Ahmad Bacchus told Guyana Times that Roopnarine left his 169 Mandela Avenue home around 03:00h on Thursday and checked in at the hotel at around 04.30h.
No getting way
Reports indicate that upon leaving the hotel with his female friend, the two were greeted by several gunshots, forcing the woman to jump into the waiting car, but Roopnarine ran back into the hotel for cover. However, it was said that the murderer scaled the hotel’s fence to chase him while firing more shots.
Roopnarine was shot in the head and collapsed, giving the gunman the chance to escape back over the fence. Sources also say that the dead man was armed, but did not get the opportunity to use his firearm. According to nearby residents, a strange man was noticed sitting at the corner of the street for over an hour prior to the incident, and is believed to be the suspect.

Roopnarine’s wife Jasmattie Seeram was called to identify her husband’s body by police investigators; however, she declined to speak with this newspaper when approached for a comment. The dead man’s brother Bacchus said Roopnarine was a jovial individual, who was not in conflict with anyone.
Roopnarine leaves to mourn his wife and two daughters, age two and 10. Meanwhile, an investigation into the murder has been launched, as police were seen exiting the hotel around 12:00h when Guyana Times was on a visit there. Hotel personnel also refused to comment on what transpired.

Around 05:30 hrs, Roopnarine and his female companion exited their room and went to the front gate, which was locked. They then stood at the gate waiting for their taxi to arrive.
The security guard, according to sources, informed the businessman of the stranger’s presence and cautioned Roopnarine repeatedly to remain in the hotel.
However, Roopnarine reportedly drew his firearm, waved it in the air, and told the guard that he was “the baddest man around.”

He wife Jasmattie must taking this bad to know that she husband was cheating in a hotel at 5am in the morning and then get killed on top of that. He is a deportee and does fuck nuff girls. He jammin a big man wife too. Poor kids he left behind…………..feel so sorry for them.

Give some condolences to the Wife of the deceased, his kids and his family members. Its hurtful to the family to loose their relatives. Its not a new thing that men cheat more than women. Some people gets attracted to other people while in marriage it happens its not new.
Well that should teach you also to keep your business private should you get into such a situation because someone might want to also publish your story when you dead.
